Day 1. Nairobi to Arusha
We are met at our hotel and transferred to the scheduled shuttle bus down to the border with Tanzania at Namanga to complete border formalities and onwards to the town of Arusha. Travelling out of town across the maasai plains our journey takes us to the attractive Lake Manyara National Park were we enjoy our first game drive seeing what animals and birds that we can spot. This morning our journey takes up the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and on towards the highlands and into the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation area. The route takes us around the rim of the crater before dropping down again towards the Serengeti National Park. En route we stop at the Olduvai Gorge with its significant remnants of early man.Day 4. Departing in the cool of the early morning we head out from camp on an early morning game drive to explore the park. Our route will depend on the seasons but we are ensured some amazing animal experiences. Waking up on the rim of the crater we are welcomed with stunning views before descending to the floor of the crater where we spend the morning exploring this beautiful reserve, home to a fantastic array of animals.Day 6. Lake Manyara to Tarangire and Arusha Highlights. Tarangire National Park.
We travel through Mto Wa Mbu and on to the gem that is Tarangire National Park with the iconic baobab trees. The park is less frequently visited but we are rewarded by some large herds of both elephant and buffalo.Day 7. Arusha to Nairobi
We have a leisurely start today with the chance to explore the markets and town itself before taking the afternoon shuttle service back to Nairobi were we arrive late in the evening.
