The rainforests of south western Uganda is home to about half of the worlds last remaining mountain gorillas, and this safari takes you for a very special wildlife encounter with these magnificent apes in their natural habitat. We also enjoy game drives and boat rides to see other fascinating wildlife, and explore the beautiful terraced hillsides of Uganda, dotted with picturesque lakes and rural landscapes.

Day 1. Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park Highlights. Equator. Lake Victoria, Uganda.
We leave Kampala this morning and head south west around the shores of Lake Victoria, crossing the equator and up towards the Kigezi Highlands and into the Lake Mburo National Park.Day 2. Lake Mburo National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park Highlights. Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda.
We start the morning with a game walk in the park and follow breakfast with a game drive before venturing North to Queen Elizabeth National Park and our lodge on the Mweya peninsula overlooking Lake Edward.Day 3. Making the most of our time at Queen Elizabeth National Park, we start our day with a morning game drive exploring the park and hoping to enjoy some fantastic game viewing while the animals are most active.Day 4. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Highlights. Mountain gorillas.
We are up early for our day tracking the mountain gorillas. Seeing these mighty creatures in their natural habitat is an awe inspiring experience. We are met early at the park gate by the rangers and guides who will accompany us. The trek can be strenuous through thick jungle and may take some hours to reach the family however the reward is well worth the effort.Day 5. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala
After an energetic day trekking yesterday, we have the day today travelling through the beautiful green scenery of the Ugandan countryside back to the nations capital, Kampala where we aim to arrive in the early evening. GORILLA PERMITS:
The Uganda Wildlife Authority imposes strict regulations regarding the gorilla trekking permits. One of these is that permits must be booked and paid in advance. In order for us to do this we must collect your permit money, in addition to your normal deposit, at the time of booking. Like your deposit, the permit money is not refundable if you cancel your tour. The Gorilla Permits currently (September 2015) cost US$600.00 per person. Please ask your agent or Acacia for the equivalent amount in your own currency.
