Discover the wilds of the Maasai Mara on this short safari tour

This short tour visits Kenyas greatest game reserve. It is the location of one of the worlds greatest movement of large animals the annual migration when hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals follow the rains across the plains in search of new pastures. But at all times of the year, the reserve offers rewarding safaris and is home to the Big 5 and many other equally interesting animals and birds.

Please note that seasonal pricing applies to this tour.

Day 1. Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

From Nairobi we head to Kenya's most well known reserve, the Maasai Mara. Our journey takes us down the Great Rift Valley passing Mount Longonot before entering the reserve and the grassy plains. We game drive en route hoping to spot some wild animals.

Day 2. Maasai Mara National Reserve Highlights. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.

We have a full day exploring the park and we will generally head out early in the morning as this is the time when the animals are more active before relaxing at our lodge during the hotter hours in the middle of the day.

In the cooler hours of the afternoon we head out for a late afternoon game drive to catch the animals as they become more active towards evening.

The Maasai Mara is Kenya's most prolific wildlife conservation area, and is home to a magnificent collection of wildlife in a natural, wild and basically untouched state. The park has an incredible diversity of wildlife amongst rolling fertile plains dotted with the distinctive flat-topped acacia trees, (Mara is a Maasai word meaning spotted). It is watered by the tree-lined Mara River and its tributary the green and winding Talek River, full of hippo and crocodile. 9 images Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Day 3. Maasai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi Highlights. Great Rift Valley.

Sadly we leave the reserve today and make our way back to Nairobi stopping at a couple of craft markets along the way before getting into Nairobi in the mid afternoon. 3 images Great Rift Valley
