Mera Peak (6476m) is the highest trekking peak in Nepal and lies south of Everest. Mera Peak summit would probably be the finest viewpoint in Nepal as it offers a panoramic view of five 8000m peaks - Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest and Cho Oyu.

We approach the mountain through an easy paced route which gives us enough time to acclimatise. We fly to Lukla and then head south east to cross the Pangkongma La (3174m) pass to enter the forested & uninhabited Hinku valley. This region offers pure wilderness with many glacial lakes and spectacular peaks including 7000m mountains like Baruntse & Chamlang.

We stay in tea-houses till Khare & will have tents at Base Camp & High Camp. The climb is a straightforward and not technically difficult. Acclimatising to high altitude is the key to success on this trip. The itinerary is well thought out & offers enough time for acclimatization at different stages.  This climb is a great option for someone who is looking at scaling a first Himalayan summit.
