This 7-day trip that starts in Johannesburg and ends in Johannesburg is a very popular tour covering all the attractions.
You will take in the great highlights Southern Africa has to offer such as a Soweto Township Tour, the world-famous Kruger National Park, and the “Smoke that Thunders” at the majestic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. This tour is also available in reverse order starting and ending in Victoria Falls.
You depart for OR Tambo International Airport after breakfast for your flight to the Victoria Falls. On arrival you will be met by a representative and transferred to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel you check in and have time to unpack, relax and get some late lunch before departing on an afternoon sunset river cruise.
You return to the hotel after the cruise to enjoy dinner.
Today is spent at your own leisure and you can participate in the many activities that can be arranged at the hotel reception desk. You can take a trip to the Falls, walk around the curio markets, arrange a Hwange National Park day trip or for the more adventitious you can bungee jump, horse ride or white river raft down the Zambezi River.
Today you will be departing the Victoria Falls, however there is time to have a leisurely breakfast before you check out. You will be transferred to the Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival in Johannesburg you will be collected at the Airport and transferred to a nearby hotel. After check in the rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure. You can also arrange a taxi to take you to one of the local Malls or perhaps go enjoy the local nightlife.
You will be collected by your guide from the Outlook Lodge and transferred to Berg-en-Dal Camp in the Kruger National Park.
After settling in to your accommodations (twin bed chalets with en suite bathrooms), you go out on your first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner is a three course meal, served el fresco at our private camp within Berg-en-Dal. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your Game Drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On returning to Berg-en-Dal brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the River. Be sure to bring your binoculars, Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
The final day of your Kruger Park Safari will be your last chance to see the Big Five Animals that have eluded you thus far. After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Johannesburg and dropped off at the OR Tambo Airport or the hotel where you are staying.
