While Uzbekistan is known to the world with its UNESCO Heritage Sites such as Registan Square in Samarkand and the Open Air Museum of Khiva, there is more to Uzbekistan than written in history books- beautiful nature, small villages with great people, high alley of mountains and waterfalls. This tour is an ideal way to spend a vacation for the nature lover with trekking in the Western Tien Shan Mountains and bicycle riding along the green valleys of Ferghana.

Day 1

Tashkent

Arrival in the capital city in the morning. Check in and introduction tour to the city with visits to Khast Imam Complex, Chorsu Bazaar, Museum of Applied Arts, Independence Square and Amir Temur Square. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 2

Tashkent

Ferghana

This morning we will fly to Ferghana with short flight of 40 minutes. Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to our hotel for accommodation. Once settled in, we will change our comfortable tour bus to bicycles and start our day tour of riding bikes in Ferghana and Margilan towns located 20 km from one another. We will visit the Ferghana Local Park famous for its green trees and youth of the city enjoying nice time by playing pin pong and other sports activities. Afterwards we will ride to Margilan town to visit the Yodgorlik Silk Producing Factory and the local Madrasah for a short tour. Upon returning in Ferghana, we have our group dinner and overnight in Ferghana.

Day 3

Rishtan

Kokand

After breakfast we continue our bike ride towards north-west. On our way first stop will be the small town of Rishtan, located 50 km out of Ferghana. Here we will visit the local family owned ceramics factory and watch the beautiful ceramics products come to life. One finished with our tour and lunch in the family, we drive forward to the town of Kokand- once the capital of Kokand Khanlik (kingdom / 45 km). Today we will overnight in Kokand in a lovely small hotel in the center of the city.

Day 4

Kokand

Tashkent

Today we have half a day to enjoy the Kokand town with its historical sights: Khudayarkhan Palace, Norbutabiy madrasah and Juma Mechet. After lunch, leaving our bicycles in Kokand, we take the Sedan type cars to cross through the mountainous Kamchik Pass to get to Tashkent (230 km). On the way we will pass through the towns of Angren and Ohangaron. We will arrive in Tashkent closer to sunset, accommodate in our hotel and overnight in Tashkent.

Day 5

Tashkent

Chimgan

Beldersay

 

(Trekking 7km; +200m, -280m). 
Transfer to Chimgan resort from Tashkent after breakfast (100km;1,5-2 hours). 
The active part of the route starts from Melovoy pass (1800m) near Chimgan complex Ascent along the path and here you are on Takhta-Djaylau pass (2000 m). Enjoying surrounding views. After a photo shoot, we will go down to Mramornaya river, excursion to the waterfall and the canyon on the way with photo stops. A short ascent to Urtakumbel pass (1850 m) after the lunch and a descent to Beldersay Valley. Here on a wide glade under a huge fir tree you will have your first overnight stay in sleeping tents (1720m).

Day 6

Beldersay

Nurekata

(Trekking 15km; +680m, -1000m). 
The route is continued getting over the ascent to Chetkumbel pass (1880m). An amazing view to the Big Chimgan (3309m) – the dominating pick in this area. Chatkal range spurs are overtopping to the south. Ascending to Kumbel pass (2550 m), here on a range you will see another sightseeing of this district – rock paintings of the late Stone age (2400m) – it is the highest point of our route. Panoramic views of environing mountains, Chatkal Range and Chirchik Valley are seen in a distance. The way is continued to a beautiful Nurekata Valley, the overnight staying will be on a huge glade (1400m).

Day 7

Nurekata

Shuldak

Tashkent

(Trekking 15km; -300,+300,-400m). 
The descent is continued along Nurekata Valley. Enjoying on the way unusual rocky exits, huge walnut trees and silver poplar with horses grazing there. You also can find a shepherd tents, you can see Pendant Bridge thrown across Nurekata River. And here is Nurekata and Aksakata rivers confluence with a beauty bridge made of huge logs. Crossing through small pass to the mountain settlement Shuldak (1050 m) where a car is waiting for you. 
Packing and 30 minutes transfer along Aksakata Valley.  1,5 hour transfer to Tashkent.

Day 8

Tashkent

Today you can finish your active trip to Uzbekistan and fly back home, or even better extend the tour with one of our optional extensions and visit the historical towns of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and more.
