View Georgia’s ProfileUpon your arrival to Bolzano, you will be driven to your beautiful alpine hotel on Alpe di Siusi, a plateau surrounded by the South Tyrolean Dolomites, overlooking the famous villages of Siusi allo Sciliar and Castelrotto.
Hike from your hotel to a 100+ year-old rifugio (mountain hut) for lunch. Set atop the Sciliar plateau, stunning views of the neighbouring Catinaccio Massif await you at this popular hikers hideaway.
Visit Selva di Val Gardena, one of the beautiful towns situated in the Gardena valley. From Selva, you’ll hop on a cable car lifting you to the Gardena Pass. Follow a rocky trail for almost two hours with the steep pinnacles of Pizzes da Cir on either side of you. Hike up to the Passo Cir and follow a wider trail on undulating terrain leading to the Forcella de Ciampac and up to the Rifugio Puez where you can stop for lunch.
The day begins with a drive to Valparola Pass and a gradual climb across grassy flowered flanks to the ruins of World War I military fortifications. From here there are breathtaking views of the Conturines, Sas de Pütia, and Puez-Odle massifs. Continue to a fork where you can choose to hike to the top of the Setsass Massif with beautiful vistas as your reward!
Today, a gentle hike up to the Santa Croce Sanctuary allows you to move at a slower pace and linger over breakfast in the fresh mountain air. If you opt for a more rigorous hike, a short drive will take you to the start of your journey at the Capanna Alpina, a hut built just at the edge of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park.
Enjoy a final breakfast at the Rosa Alpina before your onward travels. A drive to Innsbruck airport or Venice are available on request–Buon viaggio!
