  • Hotels

We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.

These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

Day by Day

Make your way from Bolzano to the alpine town of Ortisei where your local guide will greet you and lead you on foot to a tram connecting Ortisei with the Alpe di Siusi. From the top of the tram you’ll hike through green, gently rolling pastures to the door of the Alpina Dolomites.

Ride into the high alpine via chairlift to commence today’s hike along a spectacular ridge including vistas of the Fassa, Duron and Alpe di Siusi valleys. Stop mid-morning at a family run malga (cheese farm) to sample their fresh strudel straight out of a wood burning oven.

From Saltria begin hiking along a tranquil forested path to the hamlet of Monte Pana. Board a chairlift down to the town of Santa Cristina and explore on your own before continuing on to the famous Edelweisstal and finally San Cassiano.

The Gran Cir is the highest peak in the Puez mountain group and will be today’s setting providing magnificent views along the hike. This evening make your way to the Rosa Alpina’s private mountain hut, a chalet sitting at 6,562 ft. surrounded by nothing but solitude.

Descend by cable car this morning to San Cassiano before heading off to Passo Falzarego for a via ferrata hike and a rock-climbing experience in the Cinque Torri alpine area. Learn useful rope techniques and a range of skills for climbing on different rock features along the via ferrata.

Enjoy a final breakfast at the Rosa Alpina before you travel onwards to Venice – buon viaggio!
