Serenity at every turn

Laos, officially Lao PDR (People’s Democratic Republic – truthfully, we think this should stand for “Please Don’t Rush” due to the extremely easy-going culture of the country!) fits in perfectly with the B&R mantra of slowing down to see the world. Recently emerging as a travel destination, Laos offers a UNESCO-protected city, colonial architecture, a Buddhist legacy, and miles and miles of Mekong-side riding. From the modern capital of Vientiane to the ancient capital of Luang Prabang, we will explore many of the treasures this country has to offer.

Day by Day

Upon arrival, your guide will assist you with your visa. After exiting the airport you will be whisked to your hotel where you will have time to check in and freshen up before dinner.

Begin your day with a city tour of Vientiane which will include visits to the historical sites Wat Sisaket, Wat Ho Phra Keo, Patuxai and Pha That Luang, the most important national monument and official symbol of Laos.

After breakfast, board a ferry down the slow-flowing Mekong River to the quaint riverside town of Champasak. Hop off the ferry and jump on your bike to head to the famous Khmer Temple complex of Wat Phu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Embark on a boat ride to the Khone Phapheng Falls, the largest waterfalls in Asia! If you're lucky, you may see some of the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins that live in this stretch of the Mekong. After lunch, fly to the ancient capital of Luang Prabang

Enjoy a scenic ride alongside the Mekong through the hills north out of town. After, we boat to the nearby Pak Ou cave and enjoy lunch on the gentle cruise down the river. This afternoon, venture out for a walking tour of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rise early today to witness and join in the extraordinary ritual of morning prayers. Afterwards, we walk through the morning market and then head to the picture-perfect, multi-tiered cascades of the Tad Kouang Si waterfalls for breakfast. Ride from the falls back toward town for lunch and shopping.

A kayak trip down the Nam Khan river, a bike ride to the west of town, or a hike on the other side of the Mekong – take your pick! Whichever way you choose, you’re sure to fall further in love with the serenity of Luang Prabang. Tonight, enjoy a well-wishing Baci Ceremony as a farewell to Laos.

After breakfast we will drive you to the airport in time for your departing flight.
