After one night exploring, it’s off into the South Island you venture, starting with superb hikes along stunning coastal tracks in the Marlborough Sounds, getting up close and personal with some of the oceans largest species in Kaikoura, taking meandering hikes under the towering Southern Alps in Fiordland and finishing in the amazing ‘Adventure Capital of the World,’ Queenstown, all the while experiencing that superb New Zealand food and wine along the way!

View Rob’s ProfileArrive into Wellington International Airport and make your way to the city centre and your boutique hotel, The Bolton. Depending on your arrival time, you can either explore the city for the day or get some well-deserved rest in preparation for all that lies ahead.
Head out of the capital city on a ferry ride across Cook Strait and into the serene Marlborough Sounds. Arriving into Picton, we’ll have lunch before making our way via water taxi to our private and secluded resort for the next two nights.
Board a water taxi and travel to the start of the incredible Queen Charlotte Track, one of New Zealand’s finest coastal walks. Walk the first section of the trail from Ship Cove to Furneaux Lodge before stopping for lunch in the beautiful colonial Furneaux Lodge.
On waking up to the beautiful native New Zealand birdsong, we’ll make our way to Kaikoura and the Hapuku Lodge. If there's time this afternoon, set out for some optional seal watching and stunning photo ops before settling into the lodge.
Spend the day today on your own adventure: immerse yourself on an unforgettable and unique cultural Maori tour, hike through the magnificent mountains, visit with the local wildlife, or spend the day relaxing at the lodge.
Experience the incredible ocean wildlife off the coast of Kaikoura. A huge ocean trench provides a year‐round supply of food and nutrients for some of the ocean’s gentle giants...not to mention massive pods of Dusky dolphins and soaring albatross!
Explore Fiordland National Park, truly one of the world’s untouched treasures. Surround yourself with huge ice‐carved mountains, rugged terrain, deep fiords, beautiful glaciers, lush native forests, teeming wildlife and the best part? No one else in sight!
Visit the small lakeside town of Te Anau, acting as the gateway into this must-see region. Head out onto Milford or Doubtful Sound and embark on a few hikes while exploring this breathtaking region.
Take a stunning drive into the "Adventure Capital of the World" – Queenstown. Depending on your flight home and whether you’ve decided to spend a few more days exploring the town, we’ll drop you to your accommodation or to the airport for your journey home.
