Trip designed by Travel Expert Dana Quinn
The first day’s afternoon warm-up ride explores the valley in the shadow of the Lubéron hills, with a stop at the delightful village of Roussillon, known for its tiny cobble-stoned streets lined with a colourful array of village houses, cafes, and inviting little shops.
Today you’ll explore the incredible perched villages of the Lubéron, spotting a 12th century necropolis and crossing a two-thousand-year-old Roman Bridge as you ride. Dinner tonight is at your hotel, where the Michelin starred Chef Gregory Mirer will surprise you with his creative cuisine.
Today poses two route options to the base of Mont Ventoux, depending on how much of a challenge you would like. The first option is a short but hilly stretch across the stunning Gorges de La Venasque and the second is an ascent through the wild wooded valleys of Murs to Sault. As part of your trip you’ll enjoy dinner tonight at your hotel’s newly renovated restaurant, Jérôme Blanchet.
A morning ride will take you to the famous village of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a well-known centre of antique merchants, where you'll stop for lunch. Later you'll cross the gorgeous Durance River into the region known as Les Alpilles.
Bike through olive groves and lush orchards towards the mountain-top village of Les Baux. Meet a local guide for a walking tour through a fascinating part of Van Gogh’s life.
We will transfer you to the Avignon TGV station at the time of your choice. If you have a little extra time, why not explore the gorgeous streets of St Rémy one last time or even have a final dip in the hotel’s roof top pool?
