There’s something happening in Rioja. Something dynamic, like the swirl of a great wine in a glass. The region has long been known as one of Spain’s preeminent wine-producing regions, but as of recently, the reality of Rioja supersedes even its reputation. Inspired perhaps by the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao just to the north, Rioja has become a hotbed for artistic creativity. Whimsical architecture that seems to defy gravity pops up unexpectedly in traditional villages and wheat fields, design of all kinds strikes out in new directions, and culinary experimentation is to be expected. As for the wine, it just keeps getting better. There is a new pulse in the region, and it pushes innovation in everything. It is, simply, an exciting time to explore the Rioja. So swirl, and enjoy!

Embark on a loop ride through the Rioja Valley, stopping along the way to explore the Baigorri winery, where winemaking tradition meets avant-garde architecture and vinification technology. Tonight, enjoy a gourmet dinner on the hotel terrace.
Today, discover the twin UNESCO heritage monasteries of Yuso and Suso—it was within their stone walls that the Spanish and Basque languages were written for the first time! This afternoon, we'll swirl and empty our glasses one last time at the Marques de Caceres winery before settling in for a beautiful meal.
After breakfast together, you'll be driven to Logrono, the capital of the province of Rioja, or Bilbao. If you have not visited the landmark Guggenheim or the newly opened Azkuna Zentroa by Philippe Starck, be sure to allow a day to do so. Adios!VIEW MAP CLOSE Want to see a full
