Aside from similar histories and closely related languages, what these two countries share is great terrain for biking and walking, superb hotels and lodges, a love of locally sourced food and an appreciation for well crafted wines. On this north to south journey you’ll explore food, wine, culture and history from the mountains to the sea. You’ll meet some fascinating people along the way, and gain an appreciation for their lives and values. You’ll traverse ancient paths and explore some magnificent cities and towns. You’ll spend some time with old friends and make new ones along the way.

Welcome to the delightful riverside city of Ljubljana, considered one of the hippest and most charming of small European cities. After being collected from the airport, you'll have dinner in the stunning castle above the town.
After breakfast, you'll start your ride in Radovljica, heading towards the iconic Lake Bled. After winding through rolling countryside and small villages, you’ll circumnavigate this picture-book lake surrounded by alpine sights. Lunch will be overlooking Bled Castle, which you'll later tour.
If you thought Lake Bled was nice, wait until you see Lake Bohinj! Today is a mixture of biking and hiking which includes visiting a beautiful waterfall and lunch on top of a mountain.
You'll take a scenic train journey to Postaja where you'll start today's ride through the foothills of Slovenia and into Italy. Enjoy wine tastings in Gorizia Hills' two best-known wineries, followed by a delicious Italian lunch. Tonight choose between an unforgettable cooking class or dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Have lunch the highly praised, Zemona, a former hilltop estate. Later, enjoy a private tour of the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After learning about the Istria Peninsula, you'll arrive in the beautiful town of Rovinj. Dinner tonight will be at the marvelous waterfront restaurant overlooking the town.
We'll begin our ride in the Istrian inland, stopping for lunch near the ancient Roman town of Porec. Afterwards, you're free to wander the famous Euphrasian Basilica and some lovely Roman ruins at the end of town. This evening, head out on a tour of the most beautiful city in Croatia.
This morning you’ll explore the ancient hilltop town of Grožnjan, one of our favorite spots on the peninsula and a place well-known for its thriving arts scene. This afternoon visit a couple of wineries and have lunch at a local Konoba before returning to Rovinj. Tonight you'll enjoy a fabulous farewell dinner, replete with all the finest specialties of the region and paired with Istria’s delicious wines. Živjeli!
