Our B&R guides are with you throughout, anticipating needs, translating languages, providing advice and—above all—facilitating fun.

  • Hotels

We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.

These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”

“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”

Combining walking and traditional safari game drives, this itinerary allows families more time and access to first hand experiences rather than ‘standard’ driving only safaris. Incorporating the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, and the world famous Serengeti, this Tanzania family travel experience is designed for families with an adventurous spirit and desire to engage in their environment. The region offers an excellent habitat variety that features rolling hills, open plains, ground water forest, massive volcanoes, culture, and the Serengeti Migration.

Day by Day

Drive to Legendary Coffee Lodge for a relaxing first night. The lodge provides the perfect setting to unwind after a long day of travel and great jumping off point to visit some of the local sites such as Arusha National Park at the base of Mt. Meru.

Meet your local guide and head to Manyara National Park (famous for its population of flamingoes and tree-climbing lions!) to begin your safari. Tonight, kids are treated to a fun meal with the guides while parents enjoy a round of sundowners and more intimate dinner.

Take an early morning game drive through the Lake Manyara National Park to view the vast herds of elephant, thousands of flamingos, cheetah, giraffe and hippo. Tonight, head out on a nocturnal game drive to discover the nighttime movement of predators.

Head toward Ngorongoro Crater, passing picturesque villages along the Great Rift Valley. Stop in the village of Tloma for a leisurely walk to visit to the primary school and either hike or bike to our home for the next two nights.

Drive to the famed Ngorongoro Crater in search for black rhinos and massive bull elephants. Serendipitous meetings with the Maasai on foot will provide a window into a way of life that has prevailed for millennia and yet, as now, is a way of life that is ever changing.

Today, fly either up to the northern Serengeti near the Mara River or to the south for some secret calving spots only privy to B&R. Spend the next three days exploring the magnificent Serengeti!

Activities for the kids today include archery, bush walks around camp, and horseback riding. Take part in as much game driving as your family likes.

Kids will have the chance today to participate in a Mini Rangers course including tracking animals, butterfly capture and release, a cosmic safari and learning bush survival techniques. Parents are free to enjoy walking safaris with a ranger or more traditional game drives.

Depart camp after breakfast for the return flight from the Serengeti back to Arusha for connecting flights home or on to Zanzibar.

What’s included? Everything you need. Plus everything you’d
want. Plus a few things you never knew you wanted ‘til you got them.

Interesting facts
Photography tour in Sahara

Have you seen the movie Gladiator? If not, go and watch right now. Those who have seen in will be glad to know that Sahara is the location where the most prominent scenes of the movie were shot. You can start with capturing the velvet dunes and taking photos of the snake charmers and mighty camels proudly swaying as they carry bedouins on their back. Once in a province, you will get a chance to capture and even participate in the traditional tea ceremony as well as to see the locals playing gnawa music performed on goatskin drums. The beauty of the sunset in Sahara is just a cherry on the top of a cake you cannot miss out on.
