This trip is available year round on schedules set dates. So if you search for a private safari for your small group of family and friends in Botswana then you’re unlikely to find anything to beat this trip on value. The maximum group size is 7 guests, we explore quiet locations where wildlife populations are strong, you’ll be in great company too.
This safari offers a huge amount of variety over 10 days. Aside from varied habitat diversity we also use different modes of transport to explore Botswana’s Okavango. This includes boat, mokoro, vehicle and light aircraft. In addition you’ll experience night drives and bush walks during the cool hours of day.
We accommodate guests in spacious and comfortable Meru tents. You get to focus on the adventure as a full team takes care of the detail.
This safari routes from Kasane through Chobe, Khwai and Moremi to Maun, but as a result of seasonal changes it can be run in reverse.
We offer easy extensions to cover Makgadikgadi Pans and since we prefer to use Victoria Falls as our main hub this safari is easy to combine with Hwange in Zimbabwe.
The Letaka Safaris team, including Mike Reed (Dad) and the two “Safari Brothers” (Grant and Brent Reed) have actively guided over the last two decades in Botswana. So in addition to running safaris they’ve been instrumental in elevating guide standards through Okavango Guiding School.
As a result Letaka Safaris have pick of the crop and therefore employ some of Botswana’s best mobile guides.

Have you seen the movie Gladiator? If not, go and watch right now. Those who have seen in will be glad to know that Sahara is the location where the most prominent scenes of the movie were shot. You can start with capturing the velvet dunes and taking photos of the snake charmers and mighty camels proudly swaying as they carry bedouins on their back. Once in a province, you will get a chance to capture and even participate in the traditional tea ceremony as well as to see the locals playing gnawa music performed on goatskin drums. The beauty of the sunset in Sahara is just a cherry on the top of a cake you cannot miss out on.
