Antarctica expedition itinerary from Argentina to Antarctica: Day 1 — Buenos Aires, Argentina You may arrive in Buenos Aires at any time during today. Upon your arrival in Buenos Aires, make your way independently to the group hotel* (part of the Buenos Aires Flight and Transfer Package). Day 2 — Charter Flight to Ushuaia Your cruise to Antarctica from Argentina starts here! After breakfast at the hotel, the group will transfer to the airport and board our private charter flight* from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Argentina. Take a short city tour of this quaint port town before heading to the pier where your trip to Antarctica from Argentina begins! Days 3 and 4 — Crossing the Drake Passage: Ushuaia to Antarctica The Drake is unpredictable and always changing - but you’re in safe hands! You’ll spend these first days getting to know your shipmates, while we’ll provide safety briefings and insights into what excitement lies ahead. Days 5 to 8 — South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula Become Antarctic explorers! It is perhaps the first sight of land itself that is embraced as the true beginning of any Antarctic expedition. Appreciate why this region has long captivated the attention of explorers and travelers alike as we take Zodiac excursions from the ship to explore bays, channels and landing sites each day. With Antarctica’s wildlife wonderfully abundant here, visit penguin rookeries, scout for humpback and minke whales and search for a number of the southern seal species, including the cunning leopard seal. A stunning, 360° view of your surroundings The majesty of the Antarctic Peninsula’s mountains will enchant you as you scramble up snowy pathways to vantage points that offer you 360° views of your surroundings. One of these in particular, in Orne Harbour, gives the opportunity to visit a chinstrap penguin colony high up on a ridge. Each day a different Antarctic experience Amidst the serene silence of Antarctica, noisy interludes now become indelible memories. Savor penguins squabbling over prized pebbles, or the boom and crack of a calving glacier in Neko Harbour. Every day will be different, having been carefully crafted by your Antarctic expedition team to entertain and educate you about this wonderful part of the world. If you’re looking for the ideal Antarctica cruise to see penguins, this is it! Days 9 and 10 — Drake Passage to Ushuaia. The journey back across the Drake Passage provides you with some final opportunities to spend time on the deck watching for seabirds and scouting for whales. You can also enjoy a few final presentations by your expedition team or simply relax and reminisce about your Antarctic experience. Day 11 — Disembarkation in Ushuaia with charter flight* back to Buenos Aires. You will arrive in Ushuaia in the morning after breakfast. After disembarkation, you will have a little time to explore Ushuaia before we transfer to the airport for the return group charter flight* to Buenos Aires. *Buenos Aires Flight and Transfer Package The Buenos Aires Flight and Transfer Package is not included in the base price of the trip - see inclusions/exclusions. Important reminder: Embracing the unexpected is part of the legacy – and excitement – of expedition travel. There are no guarantees that we can achieve everything we set out to accomplish. A measure of flexibility is something all of us must bring to a voyage. There are nearly 200 recognized sites in the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetlands and the places visited may be changed from those mentioned above to others equally as interesting.
