Stop just outside Hermanus for a tour of a wine estate and wine-tasting. During whale season (about June to December) you will stop in Hermanus to spot these impressive creatures from the shore. Hermanus is well-known as one of the best land-based whale-watching destinations. You also have the option of heading out on an eco-marine or whale-watching boat trip, at an additional cost. Continue on to South Africa's third oldest settlement, Swellendam, after lunch. Spend the night at Schoone Oordt Country House and enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Enjoy time at the Knysna Waterfront before embarking on an excursion to the beautiful Featherbed Nature Reserve located on the western Knysna Head, which includes a ferry across the lagoon. Head out on the short downhill nature walk that offers truly remarkable scenery. Enjoy a tasty lunch at the reserve before returning to the mainland to continue your journey to Plettenberg Bay for two nights at the Hunter's Country House. The next day, you will visit the Knysna Elephant Park, where you will have the amazing opportunity to touch, feed and photograph these wonderful gentle creatures.
