A mobile safari with top notch guide, Jeremia Mwapopi. A world of red dunes at dawn, harsh and fragile habitats, rare species and extreme contrasts. Our 12 day Namib Desert Encounters is limited to 8 guests only… we run this safari in November.
In a nutshell… we’ve chosen that short period before the rains start. We go mobile and cover the long and dusty routes to get a proper sense of geological time through the full array of Namibia’s desert habitats.
We’ll fly over the dune fields of Sossusvlei, the barren expanse of the Skeleton Coast and the harsh yet fragile eco systems of the ephemeral river systems of the Kunene region.
What really unlocks Namibia’s extreme contrasts however is the knowledge of one of Namibia’s most experienced “explorations” guide, Jeremia Mwapopi will share his knowledge of Namibia’s geology, unique interactions between predator and prey – insects, reptiles, mammals and birds.
Discover the delicate harmony that desert-adapted elephants achieve in the hostile Kaokoveld. Learn about the complex balances that herdsmen and wildlife custodians aim for with predatory lions and endangered black rhino.
“Any seasoned African traveller knows that sometimes only a combination of ample time and good luck will give you a crack at really getting under the skin of a place.”
