4th to 31st March 2018
This five-day itinerary will allow you plenty of time to explore the amazing Khwai Private Reserve on both Game Viewers and in Mokoros (dugout canoes [Seasonal]).
The camp itself hosts a maximum of twelve guests in very comfortable canvas walled en suite rooms each with a private balcony overlooking some stunning grass wetlands. The communal area of the Camp has been designed with the needs of a modern wildlife photographer in mind. There is a long table with plenty of plug points set up for group editing sessions as well as plenty of space to store camera gear and charge batteries.
At the camp, we have three game viewing vehicles which means a maximum of four guests per vehicle even when the camp is full. This affords us not only the flexibility to allocate vehicles to guests with similar photographic experience and goals but on board, there is plenty of room for moving around and storing of camera gear.
The main area that we traverse is approximately 70,000 hectares of some of the prettiest Okavango Delta terrain we have ever seen. The area is crisscrossed with small rivers and channels and dotted with stunning tree covered islands. This area is ours to explore – for full days if desired. We will happily send you off in the morning with a packed lunch and a full cooler box and expect you home after dark… a full day of photographic adventure!
The lodge operates on a fully inclusive basis meaning that all your meals, drinks (alcoholic and soft) and activities are included. the day to day itinerary is yours to design and you can do as much or as little as you like.
Along with the game drives we offer seasonal mokoro trips on traditional dugout canoes or for the more adventurous we can organise a helicopter to come from Maun to take you on a “doors off” flight over the more remote parts of the Okavango Delta which at that time will be entering full flood in all its glory.
The camp is hosted by a Pangolin Photo Guide in Residence who will be on hand to help and advise you on your photography. In the camp we will have plenty of camera gear for you to borrow should you require and this is included in the price. We have several Canon 80Ds as well as Sigma 100-400 lenses – perfect for handheld photography in the game viewers.
The opening special includes the return charter flight from Maun to the airstrip on the Khwai Private Reserve.
