Day 01: NAGGAR/MANALI (2050 Mts.)
Arrive at Trek India Outdoors base camp, Naggar 20 Kms short of Manali. Acclimatization and preparation for the trek. The accommodation will be provided in hotel/guest house during winters (Dec-Mar).
Day 02: NAGGAR – JANA – MATIKOCHAR (2200 Mts.) 4 Hrs.
Transfer to Jana by jeeps, the trek begins from the old picturesque village Jana. It leads through a thick forest of magnificent pines, cedar and apple orchards and provides a beautiful view of the valley and snow clad peaks. Matikochhar commands a panoramic view of Kullu valley, particularly of Kullu town. During night in a clear weather one gets a feeling as if there are two skies, one on the top of our head with twinkling stars and the second below with glimmering artificial lights. Camp at Matikochar near the forest hut.
Day 03: MATIKOCHAR – BIJLI MAHADEV ( 2460 Mts. ) – MANALI 3/4 HRS. TREK AND 3 HRS. DRIVE FROM CHANSARI VILLAGE
This place is full of mystery and miracles. The name comes from the fact that the lightening (Bijli) strikes the Shiva linga inside the temple and breaks into pieces. The Shiva linga (Mahadev) is joined together and installed in a special occasion using a locally made adhesive of butter. One can witness the charred part (especially on the walls) inside the temple which is due to the flames resulted during lightning. The place is too scenic due to the location of the temple which is at the top most end of the Mathan hill. Descend down to the Chansari village through the pine forest. It will take approximately one and a half hours to reach at Chansari and finally the trek ends. Drive to Manali. Programme concludes.
