Detailed Itinerary

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Arrive to Kathmandu at any time. We will welcome you and explain the program further. There are no planned activities for the day so check into the hotel. At evening you will be invited for hearty dinner program set up at a traditional restaurant.

DAY 2: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING

You will be pleased to explore the colorful city, rich in art, diverse culture and tradition, which reflect on the temples and monuments. We will pay a visit to the Kathmandu Durbar Square first and explore more of the city such as the famous Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and so on.

DAY 3: FLIGHT TO BHADRAPUR, DRIVE TO SUKETAR (2420M, 5HRS)

Today we leave Kathmandu via morning flight, it takes 45 minutes to reach Bhadrapur, and from there we drive towards Suketar.

DAY 4: TREK TO PHURUMBU (1542M, 4-5HRS)

Today, we start our first day trek towards Kanchenjunga. It takes 4-5 hrs walk to reach Phurumbu. We walk through terraced fields and forest, passing local tea shop and lodges.

DAY 5: TREK TO CHIRUWA (1270M, 5-6HRS)

Leaving Phurumbu, we head towards Chiruwa village. It will take 5-6hrs to reach there. Passing Sinwa, Tawa and Thiwa village we will reach Chiruwa. Chiruwa is a beautiful Limbu village where we can see few lodges, tea shops etc.

DAY 6: TREK TO SUKETHUM (1585M, 6-7HRS)

Continuing the trek, we head towards the Sukethum by passing cardamom fields and dense forest. Before we reach Sukethum we will cross the Ghunsa River and finally we reach today destination. Sukethum is the village where Japanese people used to live there.

DAY 7: TREK TO AMJILOSA (2395M, 6HRS)

Today, we trek from Sukethum to Amjilosa which is one of the challenging treks in this trip. Starting our trek we will cross the suspension bridge and enter a dense forest. Continuing the trek we will arrive at Solima and from there our trek descends down to the Amjilosa. Amjilosa is the small rural area where we can found only small teashops and few local peoples.

DAY 8: TREK TO GYABLA (2730M, 6-7HRS)

Today’s our trek is interesting own as we trek through the jungles which is filled with rhododendron, oak and bamboo trees. After reaching there we can see a Tibetan settlement and most of the people of their follow Buddhist culture.

DAY 9: TREK TO GUNSA (3427M, 7-8HRS)

After finishing breakfast, we will heads towards the Gunsa which will take 7-8hrs to reach. Passing through the jungles and observing a Gunsa river we will arrive at Sherpa village, Gunsa. People of here do the exporting and importing good in Tibet and follow Tibetan culture.

DAY 10: TREK TO KAMBACHEN (4050M, 6-7HRS)

Leaving Gunsa village we follow the trail towards the Kambachen. 6-7 hrs treks through the rhododendron and pine forests we will cross Rampuk Kharka and reach the beautiful Tibetan culture village, Kambachen. In Kambachen, we can see Tibetan style of arts.

DAY 11: TREK TO LHONAK (4780M, 6-7HRS)

Today will be another challenging trek. We trek through rocky fields and large boulders on the hillside along the riverbank and arrive at a waterfall. Crossing a bridge to Ramtang monastery and passing through a steady pace before descending to the river, we finally reach at Lhonak.

DAY 12: TREK TO KANCHENJUNGA BASE CAMP (5143M, 5-6HRS)

From Lhonak, we trek towards the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Our trail is alongside the gigantic Kanchenjunga Glacier. After passing Pangpema (5,143/16,873FT) we descend towards the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The view from the base camp is extraordinary. Mt. Kanchenjunga, Jannu Himal and other Himalayan peaks are ours to admire.

DAY 13: TREK TO KAMBACHEN (4050M, 8-9HRS)

Today we will step down towards the Kambachen from Kanchenjunga base camp. Enjoying the mountains view we cross the Lhonak and Ramtang monastery to reach our destination. It takes 8-9 hrs to arrive our today overnight spent destination.

DAY 14: TREK TO GUNSA (3427M, 4-5HRS)

Descending down from Kanchenjunga base camp today we come to Gunsa village which will take 4-5hrs. Enjoying the surrounding beauty and mountains we reach our destination.

DAY 15: TREK TO TANBHARMA DANDA (4641M, 6-7HRS)

After breakfast at Gunsa we will come down towards the Tanbharma Danda. To reach there we have to go through the dense forest of rhododendron, moss and juniper.

DAY 16: TREK TO CHERAM (3870M, 7-8HRS)

7-8hrs trek with nice views of forest and mountains, we go towards the Cheram. In Cheram we can see a very few houses and yak huts. To reach there we have to pass through the Mirgin La pass (4480m) and Sinion la (4646m).

DAY 17: TREK TO RAMCHAUR (4580M, 3-4HRS)      

Leaving Cheram we will trek towards the Ramchaur. 3-4hrs short trek following Yalung Glacier we reach our destination. From here we can view the mountains enjoy the scenery.

DAY 18: REST DAY

Leaving our camp at Ramche, we take a packed lunch and set off very early for our first close encounter with Kanchenjunga. Following the valley around its sweeping curve, we come across the vast southern wall of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Along this ridge lie the three main summits of Mt. Kanchenjunga at 8,420m, 8,586m, and 8,474m. These three summits overhang into the sky presents a really grand sight.

DAY 19: TREK TO YALUNG BASE CAMP (4500M, 4-5HRS), TREK BACK TO RAMCHAUR (3HRS)

From Ramche, we walk further up the valley. We then follow a stream before climbing on the moraine top until confronted by Kanchenjunga’s southern face. We walk further ahead for a glimpse of the Jannu Himal. We continue our trek further towards the Oktang Monastery. From here, we climb further up and reach the Yalung Base Camp. The views from the base camp are extraordinary. Kumbhakarna (Jannu), Nyukla Lachung and other Himalayan peaks are close by. We descend and spend the night at Ramchaur.

DAY 20: TREK TO TORTONG (2995M, 5-6HRS)

Today after breakfast we move to Tortong. Walking through the forest area and passing Simbuwa River we reach Tortong. It is lies beside the banks of Simbuwa River.

DAY 21: TREK TO LASIYA BHANJYANG (3310M, 6HRS)

Continuing the trek we go ahead to Lasiya Bhanjyang where we have to walk for 6hrs. Arriving at there we will take rest and spent overnight at there.

DAY 22: TREK TO YAMPHUDIN (2080M, 5HRS)

Today we trek to Yamphudin which is one of the beautiful trek as we reach there we will eat pig meat cause it is tradition of their people. If any tourist comes to visit the local kill pig for the feast. In this village we can see various people settlement as it is a mixed community of Limbu, Sherpa’s, Gurung and Rai.

DAY 23: TREK TO PHUMPHE DANDA (1858M, 7-8HRS)    

Descending down through the dense forest and crossing the Kabeli Khola we will reach the Mamangkhe village. Again from there we go down towards the Phumphe Danda which is our today finally destination.

DAY 24: TREK TO KANDE BHANJYANG (2129M, 6-7HRS)

Leaving Phumphe Danda we will follow the trail and walk towards the Kande Bhanjyang. From Kande Bhanjyang we can see the magnificent views of mountains and natural beauty.

DAY 25: TREK TO LALIKHARKA (2265M, 7-8HRS)

Today we will move towards the Lali Kharka. Walking through the dense forest filled with rhododendron tress we will reach there about 7-8hrs trek.

DAY 26: TREK TO SUKETAR (2420M, 6HRS)

6 hrs trek from Lali Kharka we reach Suketar and take a rest for today. Suketar is the last day of our trek in this trip.

DAY 27: DRIVE TO BHADRAPUR (5HRS)

5 hrs drives from Suketar leads us towards Bhadrapur which is our today overnight destination.

DAY 28: FLY TO KATHMANDU

We take fight to Kathmandu and spend the day resting that we much deserve after the strenuous trek.

DAY 29: FREE DAY AT KATHMANDU

A free day which can be spent sight-seeing, evening ceremony of chanting at Pashupatinath or, alternately, a relaxing massage. We can arrange anything for you on this day or you can spend your free day independently.

DAY 30: DEPARTURE

It will be your last day in the city and therefore shop and try out the traditional cuisines as much you desire and make the most of the day. According to your schedule we will drop you off at the airport for the flight back home.
