Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arusha - Arrival

After your arrival in Kilimanjaro airport, you will be met and driven to Arusha. Situated in the outskirts of this busy little town, Olerai is set under a canopy of yellow-barked acacias and other indigenous trees. This bush home is the perfect start to your Tanzanian journey
    Overnight: Olerai D

  • Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire

Depart for Tarangire National Park , gamne drive & picnic lunch en route.
Osunyai Wilderness Camp, our exclusive Camp set on the edge of the wilderness zone, is situated close to the Silale wetland and prime elephant & buffalo habitat, and in the heart of big game country.
The camp is set beneath mature acacia trees facing the rising sun. A very large tent forms the nucleus of the camp. In the dining area, guests can enjoy delicious meals tailored to individual requirements and dietary preferences, sample wines from Southern Africa and beers from the region, as well as the normal selection of soft drinks, juices & spirits. The lounge is there for relaxing and enjoying – afternoon tea is normally served there. The accommodations comprise of luxury safari tents. The tents are large and airy with full width windows and en-suite bathrooms, king sized double or two extra long single beds, hanging wardrobe, luggage racks and interior solar light tables. Each has a private veranda. Osunyai has all the creature comforts of a seasonal Camp, whilst retaining the necessary balance & feel of our mobile heritage
    Overnight: Osunyai Larmakau Camp BLD

  • Day 3 & 4: Tarangire

The baobab-strewn Tarangire is a haven for wildlife and has an extremely rich game viewing potential: herds up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the Oryx and the gerenuk are regularly observed. Osunyai and nearby Silale are fantastic habitats to view predators and prey in an unsurpassed setting. Close liaison with your driver-guide is greatly encouraged to ensure the choice of daily activities match your mood and pace. A wide range of wildlife and nature activities are offered within the area: in addition to the traditional Game drives, we are happy to be able to offer Game walks accompanied by our own armed walking guide and a night game drive.
    Overnight: Osunyai Larmakau Camp BLD

  • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Depart for the Ngorongoro Highlands – game drive out of the park.
Standing at 2236m above sea level, Ngorongoro is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and is surrounded by very steep walls rising 610m from the floor. Covering an area of 259 sq.kms, it is considered to be one of the Wonders of the Natural World and is a veritable haven for wildlife.
Sanctuary Camp Ngorongoro offers accommodation in ten classic safari tents, all en-suite and very comfortable.  The main common areas include a dining area, lounge, and bar. The camp is close to the crater floor access road, ideal for departing early in the morning for a game drive.
    Overnight: Sanctuary Camp Ngorongoro BLD

  • Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

An early morning descent onto the floor of Ngorongoro is undoubtedly one of the most awe-inspiring drives one can take. The steep one way descent road, only adds to the magic of descending through 2,000 feet as tiny specks identify as herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra and that pinkish hue on the soda lake shore responds with the avian language of both lesser and greater flamingo as the rising sun turns its light on the foraging flocks.
The importance of an early start becomes apparent as the circle of life plays out its daily ritual amidst the predator and prey of the crater floor.
In the afternoon, drive to your lodge.
Built & run to a very high standard under the supervision of Renate, the owner, Plantation offers its guests a unique opportunity to savour the atmosphere of staying in a elegant farm house set in beautiful tropical gardens. All the rooms are individually & tastefully furnished, and the meals include home-grown vegetables & fruits
    Overnight Plantation Lodge BLD

  • Day 7: Northern Serengeti

Drive to the nearest airstrip in order to board your flight to the Northern end of Serengeti National Park & the Lamai wedge – met by your second guide & vehicle – game drive and picnic lunch on the way to Camp.
Akiba Kibwe with its westerly setting, epitomizes the true spirit of a romance under canvas. Each accommodation tent has uninterrupted views west, sited to maximize the classic African landscape. Dining and relaxing are well taken care of in the separate tents with their billowing fabrics rippling in the African breeze. Menus are individually crafted to take in guest preferences, whilst our selection of southern African wines, beers and soft drinks, compliment the culinary experience. A full bar is always open.
    |Overnight: Akiba-Kibwe Serengeti BLD

  • Day 8 & 9: Northern Serengeti

Full days exploring the area. The Serengeti is where thousands of wildebeest, gazelle, topi, buffalo and zebra draw predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, making it the world’s most exciting wildlife environment.
Sitting in the very north of the Serengeti National Park, Akiba Kibwe lies directly in the route of the migrating wildebeest and zebra as they head towards the Mara River.
Game viewing has a completely different feel to the south with a twist of similarities that compliments both locations. The river creates an exciting backdrop and alternative wildlife haven to the surrounding short grass plains and kopje systems that dot the valleys of the north.
    Overnight: Akiba-Kibwe Serengeti BLD

  • Day 10: Departure Day

Drive to the nearest airstrip in order to board your flight to Arusha for lunch – there will be a shopping opportunity and a day use room will be at your disposal. Later on you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home. BL
