Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1, 2 & 3: IVORY LODGE, Hwange National Park

    Upon arrival into Victoria Falls airport, guests will be met and transferred by shared road transfer to Ivory Lodge, where they will stay for three nights.
    Ivory Lodge is set on its own 6000-acre conservancy bordering Hwange National Park which is the largest National Park in Zimbabwe. Ivory Lodge is built in the treetops of giant teak forests – diverse habitats attract a variety of wildlife and bird life.
    This camp offers personal attention to a maximum of 20 guests in 7 standard tree houses, of which one is a family unit, and 2 tented suites. The elevated en-suite rooms are positioned with sweeping views of the waterhole that is floodlit by night. The central dining area, bar and library are set around the deep blue pool – a welcome haven from the scorching midday heat. Bush cuisine offers campfire barbeques under a massive blanket of stars.
    Ivory Lodge also has a hide next to a waterhole where a heightened wildlife experience is within a stone’s throw away. Activities on offer are walking and game drives in both the concession and Game Park. Night drives in the concession can also be arranged on request.

  • DAY 4 & 5: BAYETE GUEST LODGE, Victoria Falls

    After breakfast and a morning activity (time permitting), guests will be transferred by shared road transfer via the Painted Dog Centre to Bayete Guest Lodge, where they will stay for two nights. This family-run lodge abounds in warmth and friendliness and is situated in the suburbs of Victoria Falls residential area. Bayete Guest Lodge offers 25 en-suite rooms nestled among a beautiful garden, all decorated in a rustic, chic style and fitted with air-conditioning. The lodge can accommodate up to 55 guests at a time.The Caldecott Boma is home to the dining room, which offers breakfast (included in the rate) as well as lunch and dinner on request. The Ngwezi Bridge Pub with a swimming pool offer guests the perfect place to relax. Bayete also has a small outdoor gym area. Activities in Victoria Falls (at an additional cost) can be arranged by the front desk personnel.

  • DAY 6, 7 & 8: CHOBE BAKWENA LODGE, Kasane/ Chobe

    After breakfast, guests will be transferred by shared road transfer to Chobe Bakwena Lodge in Kasane, where they will stay for three nights. Bakwena Lodge is an eco-luxury retreat surrounded by the Chobe National Park on the banks of the Chobe River near the village of Kazangula.  The name Bakwena embraces the surrounding culture of Botswana, meaning ‘people of the crocodile’ and is also one of the largest tribes in Botswana. Bakwena Lodge comprises of 10 rondavel style chalets, 2 of which are family units, all situated under the shady canopy of Acacia trees. Each chalet site has been selected for its river view and is surrounded by indigenous riverine bush. Built around both ecological and traditional African principles, each chalet offers laid-back luxury with its own raised deck overlooking the river and built-in daybeds offering ample opportunity to absorb the changing moods of the Chobe. Each chalet has an interior bathroom opening onto an outside garden with an outside shower. The personal touch of owner-managers can be felt from the hand-selected furniture to the food served at meal times where simple, African-fusion dishes, inspired by traditional Setswana cuisine are offered. The swimming pool and main area with its lounge, restaurant and Rain Tree bar overlooking the river offers guests a relaxed atmosphere to unwind in. Activities on offer include game drives or river cruises in the Chobe.
