Dotted with watering holes that attract a diverse variety of game, the bottom of the crater is home to more than 30 000 animals which are enclosed and protected by the slopes of the volcano. You will spend the day exploring this spectacular area, soaking up the breathtaking natural scenery and experiencing the incredible array of fauna and flora that reside within it.
Overnight Olduvai Camp BLD
After saying goodbye to your Maasai hosts, you will head to the Serengeti National Park and spend the next two days exploring what is probably the most famous national park in the world. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. And Serengeti’s predator concentration is high year-round. Depending on the season, accommodation will be at Grumeti Hills or Mara River Post
