Tour Summary

From world-renowned game parks to stretches of white sandy beaches, Kenya is ideal for a classic bush and beach breakaway. Upon arrival, the tropical gardens at your hotel in Nairobi will hint at the vibrant hues of the landscapes to follow. Our guide will escort you to Kenya’s most famous game reserve – the Masai Mara – where most of Africa’s wildlife gathers on the sun-bleached grasslands that turn a lush green in the rainy season. The Mara is unequivocally one of the best safari destinations in Africa, irrespective of the time of the year you travel. Return to Nairobi for your flight to Mombasa, and a few days in paradise on the Kenyan coast. Soak up the sun beside an azure pool or beach, or join one of the many resort or water activities on offer before your holiday in Kenya comes to an end.

Day 2 : Masai Mara National Reserve

You’ll depart from Nairobi after breakfast for the approximately 4-5 hours drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Skirting around Mount Suswa the road first heads north to Maai Mahiu, south of Lake Naivasha, before turning west to Narok and continuing west and south to the Masai Mara. A highlight of the journey is the first glimpse of the huge Rift Valley emptiness just past Limuru, at the top of the escarpments of the valley. Mount Longonot, Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha may be glimpsed to the north, while the plains seem to sweep on forever to the south. Route details and journey times may vary depending on road conditions. Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge for check-in then you will enjoy lunch provided at the lodge and later in the afternoon embark on your first game drive to explore the Maasai Mara. After your afternoon game drive is done, you’ll retire to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 3 : Masai Mara National Reserve

Full day morning and afternoon game drives. Start your day early by getting up before dawn at 06:00hrs to embark on early morning game drive in your tour vehicle to explore the Masai Mara national park which is a vast expanse of 1500 km². Situated at an average altitude of 1650 m , its plains are an ideal landscape for the elegant and sprightly gazelles. Green in the rainy season, the high-growing grass is dry for the rest of the year, offering one a view of eternal Africa. At around 9 am, you will return to your accommodation for a late and leisurely breakfast before continuing the game drive at 10.30. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to observe gnu, zebra and their predators ( hyena, lion, leopard, wild dog) ,especially during the migration period between August and September. Immerse yourself in this prime wildlife area and connect with nature on every level. Variety is what distinguishes the exceptional from the mundane and this reserve offers copious amounts of variation. Your afternoon drive will begin late in the day and conclude just before darkness falls. This is the best time of day to view nocturnal hunters who prepare for their nightly expeditions. Watering holes are also usually busy just before sunset as animals such as hippos return to their resting spots while others congregate to drink before retiring for the night. Keep your camera handy to capture everything from elephants to gazelles and crocodiles to lions.

Optional Activity : Hot Air Balloon Ride or Maasai Village visit!

You can take to the skies with a hot air balloon safari that will see you soar above all of the action. Ask your safari expert about adding a hot air balloon adventure to your safari. You can also experience how the Masai people live in the middle of the bush with zebras grazing and lions roaring just outside their homes and get to know their culture and customs on a visit to the traditional Maasai village.
