Exotic spices, excellent cuisine, vibrant gardens, dramatic mountains, beautiful towns, fascinating culture and the unforgettable smiles of the Berbers – welcome to A Taste of Morocco. This wonderful holiday combines walks, sightseeing and a rich variety of delicious local dishes. Morocco is a culinary feast, from tempting street food on the Djemaa-el-Fna, to dipping fresh Berber bread in a tasty tajine that you’ve prepared and cooked. After starting in the imperial city of Marrakech, we head to the mighty High Atlas Mountains. Here we stay in a family run Berber guesthouse as we stroll through an aromatic garden, visit a saffron farm and enjoy wonderful walks through rural terracing and Berber villages. After the mountains, it’s off to the breath-taking Atlantic Coast for a traditional riad stay in the ancient walled medina of Essaouira. We’ll explore the colourful harbour and bustling fish market before wandering along the magnificent ramparts. We finish the adventure back in Marrakech with a visit to the exquisite Marjorelle Gardens and charming Berber Museum, once home to Yves St Laurent. Marrakech is rounded off with a walking tour, shopping for spices in the souks, and a visit to the culinary delights on the Jemaa el-Fnaa.
