The Inca Trail is one of the world’s greatest treks. Traversing the foothills of the mountains provides an unforgettably dramatic trek to the fabulous Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. This family trek is tailored to enable keen and fit teenagers to experience this wonder of the modern world for themselves. Before our trek we have a couple of days to acclimatise and enjoy white-water rafting on the Urubamba River and a bike ride in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We also enjoy a visit to the colourful Pisac market. We then have four days walking on the Inca Trail from km 82 to the Sun Gate with the famous views of Machu Picchu. This is a great trek for the family, crossing two high passes, with the high point at 4212m and camping for 3 nights at a maximum of 3680m.
