This 9 day tour will take you from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
Following in Livingstone’s footsteps your journey will begin in Zimbabwe where you will find yourself standing on the edge the “Mosi-oa Tunya” (the smoke that thunders) more commonly known as the mighty Victoria Falls. The next day, with its columns of towering mist disappearing behind you, you will head through to the lush Chobe National Park to experience your first game drive topped off with a scenic sunset boat cruise along the Zambezi river. Having seen some spectacular wildlife, the next day you will depart for the northeast corner of Botswana where you will pass through the bustling town of Kasane before heading on into the Nata sanctuary, situated in the vast Makgadikgadi salt pans frequented by large flocks of pink flamingos. With a night in Maun, before you know it you will be gliding quietly through the numerous waterways of the Okavango Delta in a traditional mokoro. Here you will also be treated to a guided nature walk, a boat cruise and a game drive in one of the top wildlife viewing destinations on the continent. Leaving the waters behind, you will traverse into the heart of the central Kalahari desert to sit side by side with the local bushman as their enchanting stories and songs fill the air. From here, coming to the tail end of your tour with an overnight stop in the quaint village of Kang, you will then travel through to the ‘city of gold’ in Johannesburg, without a doubt touched by the magic of Africa.

The Okavango Delta is a unique and unusual ecosystem which sees the annual flood waters of the Okavango River fan out into the sands of the Kalahari Basin. The seasonality of the flood waters lends the Delta its ever changing character. While water levels may fluctuate the tranquillity of this wilderness area remains constant. This morning we board our plane and take a scenic flight over the Delta to our overnight accommodation for the next two nights.
