Explore Vietnam by foot

Stroll through lush countryside, trek limestone mountains, and meander past farming villages on this two-footed journey in Vietnam. Begin in Hanoi and discover the colonial architecture, tree-lined boulevards and delightfully chaotic street-life of Vietnam’s capital city. Travel onwards to Ninh Binh for a breath of (seriously) fresh air in the area’s tropical forests and verdant mountain ranges. After a day of exploring the terraced rice paddies around Sapa, venture back to Hanoi for a final night in the buzzing metropolis before your next destination.

Day by Day

Kick off your arrival in Hanoi with a tour of the Temple of Literature for an overview of Hanoian culture and take a cyclo tour (a bike-propelled cart) through the Old Quarter.

Drive to the city to Ninh Binh and stroll through the local villages for a sampling of daily life. Continue to your next home, a gorgeous eco-lodge surrounded by the peaks of Tam Coc.

Dine on lunch at a Buddhist temple in Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s capital city during the 10th and 11th C. This afternoon, take a boat ride through a limestone-walled nature reserve.

After a drive back to Hanoi, check out its trendy West Lake area before catching your overnight train north. One of the most deluxe trains on the Hanoi route, enjoy a comfortable trip aboard the Victoria Express.

Head out on a walk through hilly terrain and terraced paddies to Cat Cat village. Follow a trail through the mountains for spectacular views en route to Y Linh Ho, home to the Black Hmong minority.

Take the drive to the Muong Hoa valley, home to the largest rice fields in Vietnam. Walk from Lao Chai to Ta Van and catch views of Mount Fansipan, the tallest mountain in Vietnam.

This morning we will drive you to the airport for your departing flight.
