OverviewThis sensational 9-day tour offers close families and friends a truly private and luxurious safari experience among the world’s biggest concentration of wildlife, far away from the crowds. Your adventure begins in the outstanding Serengeti – Tanzania’s flagship conservation area and the stage for the largest and most spectacular natural migration on Earth, the annual Wildebeest Migration. Here, your home away from home is named after one of Tanzania’s most legendary guides, Mkombe Mniko. The exclusive Mkombe’s House is beautifully designed from stone and thatch, providing families with an opulent retreat overlooking the picturesque Lamai Wedge. Go on game drives and guided nature walks to encounter the area’s abundant year-round wildlife, and indulge in delectable bush picnics and sundowner drinks in stunning locations. Your family and friends can marvel at Mkombe’s uninterrupted views over the Mara River Valley – home to the dramatic river crossings between July and October.
Your final destination is remote, raw and wild and home to masses of animals including the iconic Big 5. Selous is Africa’s biggest game reserve – almost four times bigger than the Serengeti and more than double the size of Israel. Although it is one of Tanzania’s least-visited reserves, it serves up some of the most breath-taking wildlife viewing in an alluringly untamed landscape. Experience the pinnacle of privacy at Kiba Point, an exclusive-use safari lodge hidden beneath a riverine forest on the banks of the mile-wide Rufiji River. This enormous stream of flowing water is one of Selous’ showstoppers – the kingdom of Jurassic-size crocs, patrolling hippos, bathing elephants and an immense amount of birdlife. Explore this isolated jewel of Africa on early morning game drives, nature walks and boating excursions lead by your experienced and private safari guide.
