Vietnam Holiday 16 days Itinerary

Day 1    Hanoi Arrival (D)
Activities: Arrive in Hanoi and have your leisure time. Enjoy the cyclo tour around the  Old Quarter and Water Puppet Show before the welcome dinner.
 Your will start your 16 day holiday in Vietnam taking the flight to Hanoi Capital City.
When you arrive in Noi Bai Airport, our driver will pick you up for the transfer to the hotel in the center of Hanoi for check-in (the time for check-in is 14.00, but the early check-in is up to request with a surcharge). 
Take your time to relax after the long flight. After that, our tour guide will pick you for a cyclo tour around the Old Quarter of Hanoi. It is very interesting to explore and take some beautiful photos of the small streets in Hanoi. Then we will enjoy Water Puppet show - one of the unique traditional arts in Vietnam and in the World. That will be the best things to do in Hanoi. After enjoying the Water Puppet we will have welcome dinner in the restaurant.
Come back to the hotel for your leisure time.

Day 2    Hanoi City Tour - Night Train to Lao Cai (B, L)
Activities: Visit the best destinations in Hanoi including Ho Chi Minh Complex, Temple of Literature and one of the museums in Hanoi (Hoa Lo Prison or Ethnology Museum). Walk around the Old Quarter, and then take the night train to Lao Cai.
After having breakfast in the hotel, we will head to Ho Chi Minh Complex. We start the tour by visiting the  Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum at which the corpse of Uncle Ho was preserved. Also, we will visit the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh House on Stilt to see the simple life of president Ho Chi Minh in the past. Continue our city tour today by paying a visit to One Pillar Pagoda - a unique architecture and tranquil garden in Hanoi. After that, we will move to the Temple of Literature - the first University of Vietnam, and also the symbol of Vietnamese education.
We will have special lunch in KOTO (means Know One, Teach One) restaurant - the training school restaurant for the disadvantaged children. KOTO is one of the best restaurants in Hanoi that you should try.
In the afternoon, we will visit one of the famous museums in Hanoi including Hoa Lo Prison Museum which is also called "Hanoi Hilton" (a nickname given by US pilots during the war) or Ethnology Museums for discovering the outstanding characteristics of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
Next, we will walk around the Old Quarter of Hanoi with 36 ancient streets. That will be a good chance for you to discover the different corners of the city and understand more the Hanoi’s life.
Stop for a glass of draught beer in Hanoi corner and you will have free time until our guide picks you up for the transfer to the train station for the night train to Lao Cai. That will be unforgettable experience for of your Holiday 16 day in Vietnam. Stay overnight on the train.

Note: Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is usually closed from September to November for annual maintenance. In that case, we will visit outside.

Day 3    Lao Cai Station - Lao Chai, Tavan Villages – Homestay (B, L, D)
Activities:  Arrive at Lao Cai station. Do an easy trekking to Lao Chai and Tavan Village. And experience the life in the homestay with local people. 
We will arrive at Lao Cai station in the early morning. Our driver and tour guide will pick you up for the transfer from the station to Sapa. After having breakfast, you can take your time to relax or see the local life in this mountainous town.
Then, let's try to do the easy trekking to Lao Chai, Tavan Village. It will take about 2 to 3 hours to get there. On the way, we will visit Muong Hoa Valley where you can enjoy the whole beautiful view of Sapa from its top. Green paddy terrace blending with cool wind will make you feel relaxed on the way of trekking.
Keep on moving to Lao Chai and Ta Van Villages (home of Giay ethnic people). You will have one more chance to discover the daily life of the varying minorities in Vietnam. You will also be surprised at how the rattan bridge and the ancient stone field were created.
Have lunch on the way.
Upon your arrival in Lao Chai and Tavan Villages, we will check-in at a local house. You walk around to learn more about the life of Hmong and Giay people. After that, you may help our host to prepare for the dinner. It is very interesting to enjoy rice and corn wine in a simple and peaceful place like this.

Day 4    Tavan – Giang Ta Chai -  Supan trekking – Sapa (B, L)
Activities:  Continue your trekking to Giang Ta Chai and Supan Villages to have interesting experiences with local people and explore the less touched areas.
Giang Ta Chai is our destination for trekking today. Being one of the most attractive destinations in Sapa but Giang Ta Chai Village is less touched by tourists as it is more difficult to access. 
Have breakfast to get energy for the last day of trekking. It will take about 3 hours to get Giang Ta Chai Village of Red Dao minority. On the way, we will pass through bamboo forest belonging to Hoang Lien National Park. You can take a series of nice photos of the amazing surrounding landscapes. Then we will stop at a waterfall for a break and enjoy lunch at such nice place. 
After that, we will we will head to Su Pan Village - a small village located by the road. From here, we will back to Sapa by car to do check-in the hotel.

Day 5    Sapa - Heaven Gate, Silver Waterfall - Night Train to Hanoi (B)
Activities: Visit the Heaven Gate, Silver Waterfall. Discover Fansipan peak and take the night train to Hanoi.
Our guide and driver will pick you up for a leisure trip up the hill. You will have the spectacular scenery of the Fansipan Mount. Just a kilometer out of the town, you may see rose flower farms and rubber trees covered a large area.
On the way, we will stop at the Silver Waterfall and you will know why the waterfall has the romantic name "Silver Waterfall"). Continue the trip to Heaven Gate for some kilometers further, we will find spectacular natural paintings with the dense forest of the highest mountain pass in Vietnam with the height of 2047m above sea level. You can walk around for half an hour to see the beautiful scenery of both two side of Hoang Lien Son mountain range. You will have a chance to see the difference of the weather in the two sides: It can be foggy and cloudy on Sapa side while another side it is sunny.
After that, we will leave the Heaven Gate for the way back downhill 7 km. Stop to visit some lush farms in O Quy Ho where you can see many different kinds of vegetables, flowers, fruit trees and even medicinal plants grown for years. 
Come back to Sapa. After having lunch in the town, we will check-out the hotel and have a free afternoon in Sapa. You can walk around to discover the local life here or take your time to visit Fansipan or Dragon Jaw Mountain.
In the late afternoon, we will transfer to Lao Cai station for the night train to Hanoi.

Day 6    Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Activities: Getting ready to discover your beautiful time in one of the 7 World Wonders - Ha Long Bay.
About 05.30 am: You will arrive in Hanoi, take a walk to the hotel (closed to the train station) for the check-in, have a short sleep and breakfast in the hotel before our guide and driver come to pick you up. 
Halong Bay is the top listed destinations in Vietnam and it is a must for all the traveler.  
At 8.00am: After having breakfast at the hotel, we will take about 3.5 hours to drive to Halong Bay - the UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way, you will have an opportunity to see some rural areas of Vietnam as going through the Red River Delta. You can take some photos of Vietnamese farmers tilling the large green fields.
Halong Bay - a World Natural Heritage recognized by UNESCO and also a Wonder of Nature - will be a worth-visiting destination for you.
When you get to Halong Bay's jetty (around noon), get on the cruise then have welcome lunch on board.
After that, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the bay and join some onboard activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just relax on the board. Towards the end of the day, we will set anchor among karst formations for staying overnight.
In the evening, you can try squid fishing activity or enjoy a cocktail on the top deck and see thousands of amazing islands of the wonderful bay.

Day 7    Halong Bay - Hanoi - Fly to Da Nang - Hoi An (B, L)
Activities: Continue cruising in Halong Bay, enjoy doing kayaking, and then go back to Hanoi Airport for the flight to Da Nang for Hoi An. 
In the morning, we will have breakfast on board before continuing our cruise today. You will enjoy doing kayaking to discover the scenic treasures of the bay. Kayaking on the quiet and warm water of Halong Bay will lead you to some of the sites and caves inaccessible by the larger boats. You will feel something like discovering new lands.
Lunch will be severed on board before coming back to the dock.
Our driver will pick you up then we will transfer to the Noi Bai Airport for the flight to Da Nang.
Upon your arrival in Da Nang, you will receive the warm-hearted welcome from our tour guide and driver, and head to Hoi An for check-in the hotel.
Stay overnight in Hoi An. We finish our Day 7 of 16 Day Itinerary in Vietnam.

Day 8    Hoi An - Rural Cycling Half Day (B, L)
Activities: Experience the local life of the farmers and learn how to cook Banh Xeo (pancake).
At 8.00am, our guide will pick you up with bicycles. We will travel around to enjoy the scenic and peaceful countryside of Vietnam, which is far away from the noise of the city. Passing through the town, we will cycle among rice fields on the tranquil roads and stop at Ba Le Market, rice fields, cemeteries and schools before ending at Van Lang fisherman Village and Bay Mau water coconut forest which is famous for the diversity of seafood with 7 hectares of mangrove forest, canals, and houses covered in water coconut leaf.
When you arrive at the Village, a local man and his family will be happy to welcome you with a green tea. After that, you can walk around to explore more about this Village. Here you will have a chance to row a boat and learn how to fish in the water coconut forest with the locals' help. 
Turning back to the host’s house, you will be relaxed when enjoying a traditional therapeutic foot bath with medicinal herbs. Then you will help the host prepare and have lunch together. There are some special dishes that you may have never tasted before such as Tam Huu spring rolls, Banh Xeo (local pancakes), grilled fish in banana leaf, and many other Vietnamese delicacies. If you are interested in, you can learn how to cook it.
Come back and have free afternoon in the town.

Day 9    Hoi An - Free Day (B, L)
Activities: Having your free day in Hoi An
You will have a free day in Hoi An  in 16 itinerary holiday and that is good to have a free day to get back energy for our next destination. Hoi An is charming town in the Central of Vietnam. That is the good places for the trying the different food.   
Today is your free day in Hoi An. You can walk around to explore the colors of Hoi An Ancient town - a UNESCO World Heritage site on foot or bicycle. You also can take a trip to My Son Beach - one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

Day 10    Hoian - Drive to Da Nang - Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Activities: Transfer from Hoi An to Da Nang for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Da Nang for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
upon your arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, our driver will pick you up to the center of the city for check-in the hotel (14.00 is the check-in time). The rest of the day is your free time to relax or explore this bustling city by yourselves.

Day 11    Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - City Tour (B, L)
Activities: Visiting Cu Chi Tunnels and then exploring some historical destinations in Ho Chi Minh City:  Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office.
At 8.00am we will start to move to the amazing tunnels network of Cu Chi after having breakfast in the hotel. Cu Chi Tunnels is a 250km-in-length man-made maze with many of bamboo traps with the aim of a place for military practices and hiding from the pursuing of the enemy in the past. The tunnels were also used as communication routes, storage facilities, hospitals and living quarters for Vietnamese fighters in the war. It will be an interesting experience to discover the hard life conditions of those whose were used to live there.
Have lunch on the way back to the center of the city.
After that, we will some other historical sites including the Reunification Palace - the former Presidential Palace, and the War Remnants Museum. We will also stop at Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office – the French building in Ho Chi Minh City.
Have dinner on your own.

Day 12    Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta Boat Trip - Can Tho (B, L)
Activities:  Visit My Tho to discover islands and see local life here. Enjoy the horse cart, and then transfer to Can Tho for staying overnight.
Mekong Delta tour 2 day will be your highlight of your 16 day holiday in Vietnam. You will have good time to enjoy the time on the boat and discover the Mekong Delta local life. 
In the morning, we will transfer to the Mekong Delta - Vietnam's largest granary after having breakfast in the hotel. We will get on a boat and discover daily activities such as catching, raising fish on farms along Dragon Island. Continue passing through the Xep canal, we will visit some traditional industrial villages and enjoy some fruits, honey tea, and local music in the farmer house.
Next, you will have an opportunity to travel by horse cart on the paths of the village before taking small rowing boat for lunch in the restaurant by the Mekong riverside.
After that, we will enjoy coconut candy and some other kinds of candy – some specialities of this area.
Come back to My Tho. Our driver will pick you up for the transfer to Can Tho.

Day 13    Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market - Fly to Phu Quoc Island (B)
Activities: Visit Cai Rang Floating Market, and take the flight to Phu Quoc for the beach time.
Today, you may get up early about 5.30am to visit Cai Rang Floating Market - one of the most famous floating markets in Vietnam. The locals buy and sell many kinds of fruits and vegetables from small boats. Cai Rang Floating Market is the most original ones and bustling places in this area.
Getting up in the very early morning will bring into you remarkable experiences when witnessing a lovely local market like this. You will also be very surprised at the unique way that the locals tie their products to tall poles so that others can see easily and buy them.
After that, we will back to the hotel for breakfast before moving to Can Tho Airport for the flight to Phu Quoc.

Day 14    Phu Quoc Island- Free Day (B)
Activities:  Explore Phu Quoc Island on your own.

You will have a free day in Phu Quoc - one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. Escaping from escape bustling city life, you will have an ideal holiday with romantic sunsets, evergreen forests, and a serene atmosphere of this lovely island.
