A cycling adventure around the 'island of serendipity'
Sri Lanka, a land of tranquil countryside, beautiful coastline and warm welcoming people, is an ideal place to explore on two wheels. We will cycle amongst archaic ruins, search for elephant in Minneriya National Park and climb the fortress at Sigiriya. Heading towards the highlands of Kandy we cycle through the tea plantations of Kitulgala before meandering along sleepy backroads passing through traditional villages and spice gardens. We visit ancient caves and temples learning about the role of Buddhism in contemporary Sri Lanka before ending our cycling adventure on the beautiful beaches of the south west coast, a tranquil finale to an action packed trip.

Hotels and Guesthouse
Most nights are spent in comfortable hotels all with en-suite bathrooms. The Kitulagala Rest House, although a little more basic and rural, is a real tropical retreat offering sweeping views of the Kelani River and surrounding lush vegetation. The hotel on the south coast, where we spend 3 nights, is a comfortable modern hotel on the beach in Beruwala. Facilities include a large pool, spa and rooftop restaurant. All hotels have swimming pools apart from the nights spent in Kitulagala.
There may be instances when you specifically want a single room. Perhaps a grandparent needs one, or parents of a family of three or five want to ensure they get a bit of space! You only need to pay for this if you want to ensure a single room. Please ask for prices.
These are ‘land only’ prices which require you to book your own flights and join the rest of the group on Day 1 of the trip. For more information please see Trip Notes
