About the Activity:

  • Embark on this amazing Great Lakes trek and behold the beautiful scenery of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Arrive in Srinagar and head to Sonmarg from where your trek will start.
  • Next day, start your trek from Sonmarg and over the course of eight days, pass through Nichnai, Vishansar Lake, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangabal and conclude your trek in the beautiful city of Naranag.
  • Head back to Srinagar from Naranag (at your own expense) and conclude your tour with lots of memories.


  • Day 1 -

    Arrival at Srinagar and drive to Sonmarg

    Arrive in Srinagar and drive to Sonmarg, from where the trek will start.

    After reaching Sonmarg, spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Overnight stay in camp.


    Day 2 -

    Sonamarg to Nichinni

    On this day, start your trek from Sonmarg to Nichinni.

    During the trek, the route will ascent quite steeply along the gujjar trails, which will open up to the meadows after a walk of around 1000 meters..

    Continue the trek through open meadows and reach the bolder fields of Nichinni.

    The complete trek for today will be of around 5 to 6 hours.

    Day 3 -

    Nichinni to Vishansar

    On this day, after breakfast, continue your ascent from Nichinni and cross the stream, continuing the right side of stream.

    The average time of trek today will be around 3 hours.

    During your trek, you can witness the panoramic view of Baltoro region and K2.

    After this the descent to Vishansar lake is through open meadows covered in wildflowers trout fishing is possible here.

    Reach Vishansar and overnight stay in camp.


    Day 4 -

    Vishansar to Gadsar via Krishensar

    Today the trail crosses the open marshland between Vishansar and Krishensar lakes.

    From Krishensar lake there is a steep and slippery climb to the pass 4300 meters from where are views of nanga parbat ,the descent to the small turn to Gadsar is gradual and a good campsite besides the gujar encampment.

    Day 5 -

    Acclimatization + Rest Day at Vishansar

    Today will be a rest day at Vishansar.

    Get acclimatized and explore the surroundings.

    Day 6 -

    Gadsar to Satsar

    Next morning start for tent houses to complete your particular day trek.

    The trail across the watercourse and heads up higher to peak. The high altitude of the stream is 11,000ft.

    The Satsar camp is at 12,000 feet altitude and almost 11 kms away. For moving further you have to cross the stream.

    After crossing reach to western ghat.

    Within half an hour climb up 1100 feet and see high clad mountains and meadows all over the peaks.

    Satsar is a collection of 7 lakes.

    After a 20 minutes trek, reach the Satsar lake.

    Day 7 -

    Satsar to Gangabal

    Today, start your trek from Satsar to your destination point Gangabal and gradually you will find the trek way very up and down.

    Slowly move nearby edge of Satsar Lake.

    During the trek reach up to 11,800ft high altitude and pass through the zigzag way to reach up to ridges, which will take 2 hours to reach.

    Move further and cross all ridges and reach to Nundkol Lake.

    Overnight stay in camps at Gangabal.


    Day 8 -

    Gangabal to Naranag

    Today will be the last day of the trek.

    After breakfast, start your trek and reach Naranag, which will take around 3 to 4 hours.

    Transport from Srinagar to Sonmarg and from Naranag to Srinagar is not included in the tour.
    Guests have to make their own stay arrangements in Srinagar.

    In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.

    In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
