Camping by Devariyatal Lake is also quite an experience. Enjoy a route through dense forests, be surrounded by rhododendron bushes and delight in the sight of Kedar Range. Also, get to experience Chopta. A charming place, it is marked by lovely meadows and ringed by thick forests.
You will be paying a visit to the Shiva temple of Tungnath, the highest place of worship in Garhwal along with Chandrashilla Peak, the highest point in the region. Keeping your excitement levels up is Alaknanda river rafting and later is the mighty Ganga River. Tackle a range of rapids and also engage in body surfing, swimming as well as bird watching.
Today, you assemble at New Delhi railway station and board Dehradun AC Express at 11.55 PM. After an overnight journey, arrive at Haridwar next morning by 4:00 AM.
Hop on to the vehicle and transfer to Sari Village that is positioned high in the valley of Mandakini. Along the way, you will have lunch and breakfast. Reach Sari, charge with some tea as well as biscuits and commence the ascend of around 2 hours to Devariyatal Lake. Pitch tents and retreat for the night at this destination as tomorrow your Uttarakhand rafting and trekking adventure begins.
This day, enjoy a route amidst thick jungle and stays. From this place, climb downhill for some time, go stream crossing and then ascend at a steady pace to arrive at Chopta. A charming place, it is marked by lovely meadows and ringed by thick forests.
This day, begin early and ascend to cement pilgrimage route that takes you to the Shiva temple of Tungnath, the highest temple in Garhwal. Along the way, enjoy the sight of rhododendron bushes and the view of Kedar range. When at this place of worship, you can lap up the great sights and be taken over by the spirituality. Post picnic breakfast and a short halt, ascend for about an hour to the Chandrashilla Peak that lies above Tungnath and is the highest point in the region. It offers fabulous views of the horizon especially on a clear day.
Begin early today and be driven for around 3 hours to Baghwan. Post savouring a light lunch and getting the safety brief, start rafting. Begin on Alaknanda River as the white water body makes an entry to the final canyon stretch. Tackle rapids such as Baghwan’s Pillow and The Deadly Duos and get to Devprayag. From here, expect a mild stretch till the camping area with few rapids. If you wish, you can go body surfing, swimming or unwind and spot wildlife. After a great day, retreat for the night at Camp Byas-Ghat.
Today is an easy one as you will encounter small rapids. It is ideal to unwind, delight in the sun, go bodysurfing and birding. Raft for around 35 km to Kaudiyala. Pitch tent on the beach here which will serve as your retreat for the night.
This day, you will go rafting down and encountering thrilling rapids such as Daniel’s Dip, The Wall, Three Blind Mice, Crossfire, Bodysurfing, Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course and some small ones as well. In between, halt for lunch, post which, you can enjoy the big rapids of Ganga. The activity finishes a bit before the well-known Laxman Jhula. Transfer to Haridwar Station for the evening train of Shatabdi Express to Delhi. Reach by around 10:45 PM. This marks the end of your Rafting and Trekking in Uttarakhand.
