The beautiful Coorg about 300km from Bangalore offers some of the delightful views of luscious forestry, misty mountains, gurgling waterfalls that make for a stunning getaway. Rafting in the Barapole River gives you an adrenaline high like no other. Nature lovers will be thoroughly enthralled by the options for exciting activities.

The Kodagu Base Camp about 3km from the Tata Tea Estate offers a wonderful range of activities. Once you arrive at the Kodagu Base Camp at about 12:00pm, you can engage with the expert tour guides who will help you understand rafting, provide safety instructions and equipment as you gear up for the activity. This includes a 20-minute-long briefing session and a swimming lesson on flat shallow water so those who are willing to dive head-first into the sport are well-accustomed to the water and overcome their hydrophobia.
The gradient terrain and the rocky formations make for a refreshing rafting experience. For 3km the grade 3 and grade 4 rapids are moderate and ideal for beginners as well as experts. The gushing Barapole river and surrounding greenery will leave you completely refreshed. Post rafting, a jeep brings you back to Kodagu basecamp where there are separate changing rooms for ladies and guys. Hereon, you can opt to have lunch at Cafe Rubusta and trek to Iruppu falls at your own expense after which you can return to the Homestay which is 13km from the basecamp. Nature Fresh Homestay is a cosy home-away-from-home cuddled up in the warmth of nature’s habitat offering you a hospitable stay and remarkable food that is not just healthy but mouth-watering as well.
Early next day, you can head towards Bangalore after relishing a sumptuous breakfast.

Instructor charges – Certified rafting instructors from Nepal/Rishikesh
Rafting for 3-4km
Equipment provided : Safety gears, Rafts, paddles
Jeep drive : Post-rafting; back to the Base camp
Usage of changing rooms : At the basecamp
Stay : One night at the home stay on twin sharing basis/four sharing basis
T-Shirt- Carry light cotton T-shirts preferably full sleeves to avoid sun burn. Don’t carry black as it absorbs heat.
Cap/Hat- A cap or a hat to cover the head and face against the direct sunlight during peak hours.
Ideal clothing- Appropriatefor water sports like shorts, T-shirts
Change of clothing- After you are done with a rafting
Towels- To dry yourself
Sturdy foot wears- Footwears with good grip with your feetlike strap on sandals (required for rafting)
Sun Screen with UV protection
Drinking water- A smaller bottle should be sufficient as you will be in a place very easily accessible to drinking water.
Personal Medications(if any)
For safety purposes, do pay heed to the instructions given by the guides
Avoid uncomfortable clothing during the activities (like sarees, etc.)
Carrying jewellery or other valuables is not advisable.
No smoking and consumption of alcohol before or during the activity
Plastics (like chocolate wrappers, water bottles, beverages bottle, poly-ethane covers, etc., should be carried back to Urban jungle)
Do not litter and scatter plastics and bottles on the Roads. Please Carry the trash and dump at your place of stay
Take care of your belongings-mobiles, wallets, cameras
