Raft the length of the canyon
At a glance
Travel by motorised raft
Raft the length of the famous Colorado River
Aboard specially designed motorised rafts, we leave civilisation far behind and embark upon an exhilarating journey travelling the entire length of the Grand Canyon. Sculpted over millions of years by the Colorado River, immense rock walls tower almost a mile above us, and we can explore gigantic side caverns and waterfalls. Camping
Whilst on the river we camp on the banks along the length of the Grand Canyon. Camping is wild and participatory, so there are no facilities and you will be expected to get involved and help out with some of the camp chores. You may be asked to help set up and dismantle the camp, to clean up and to make your own picnic style packed lunches (breakfast and dinner is prepared for you). The climate is warm so we travel light and sleep in the open air under the stars.

Participatory camping involves all group members taking responsibility for several campsite duties in order to ensure a smooth-running, quick and easy camp set up. You’ll be expected to erect and dismantle your own tent and help out with taking down/setting up the camp kitchen. Additionally there is shared responsibillity for helping to prepare meals and washing up afterwards. You’ll find that these activities are fun and involving, and create a good opportunity for group bonding. Setting up camp typically takes between 15-30 minutes.

If you would like to book a pre-tour hotel night in Las Vegas (recommended in order for the 5:00am start) then please ask your sales consultant for prices and availability at the time of booking. Post-tour nights can also be booked in Las Vegas should you wish to extend your stay.

Luggage Storage:
If you are staying pre-trip in the Las Vegas hotel then they do offer this service and we encourage you to contact them directly with any questions. The Residence Inn by Marriott will store your non-river luggage provided you are registered at the hotel. All luggage must have name tags. Our representative will have tags available at the meeting for the luggage you wish to store while on the river. The Residence Inn will charge $20.00 per room for luggage storage. Luggage needs to be taken to the front desk before you get on the bus the morning of your trip. It will be returned to your room if you have reservations at the end of the trip. You will be required to present a credit card upon check in for incidentals and luggage storage. Please limit your stored luggage to one bag per person if possible. Families should try to consolidate luggage since storage space is limited.

These are ‘land only’ prices which require you to book your own flights and join the rest of the group on Day 1 of the trip. For more information please see Trip Notes

Interesting facts
Things to do in Bolivia

Surprisingly enough, when it comes to the most popular destinations for travelling, Bolivia is not a country on the list. Well, your loss. There are a few negative factors which keep on pushing the tourist away from the country, such as a lack of public transport and the necessity to get visa, which might set you back 150$ dollars. However, I dare say that the astounding scenery awaiting you will make amends for all inconveniences. The combination of high-rise mountains, jungles filled with wild life and the unfathomable variety of within a single country is what makes Bolivia so unique and irresistible to visit. Here are the top things not to miss out on.
