A chance to see the rare and elusive Snow Leopard
Snow leopards are one of the world's most elusive mammals but in winter they descend from the high Himalaya in search of food. Inhabiting some of the most remote and mountainous regions of Central Asia, the mission to see this enigmatic cat is really more of a pilgrimage. Other rare high altitude wildlife and isolated Himalayan Buddhist communities only add to this quest's allure.

Start Delhi

Fly across the Himalaya to Leh (3500m); afternoon visit Dosmoche Festival.

Visit Shey, Tikse and Stakna monasteries.

Day 4
Drive to Jinchen; trek to Husing (3700m).

Day 5
Five days trekking in and around the Husing and Tarbuns Valley in Hemis N.P. searching for Snow leopard as well as various other mammals and birds. There is no fixed itinerary: each day our expert guide will decide on the best route to maximise the chance

Second day tracking Snow leopard in and around the Rumbak Valley.

Third day tracking Snow leopard in and around the Rumbak Valley.

Fourth day tracking Snow leopard in and around the Rumbak Valley.

Guided Group
This is a small group guided holiday. The group is usually between 4 and 16 in size, with an average of 12 like-minded clients booking individually, in a couple or as friends together.
Activity level
You are moderately fit and possess a spirit of adventure. Some previous experience is required for most activity based trips.

Accommodation details
Hotels, Camping & Homestay
In Delhi we use a simple hotel, which has air-conditioned rooms with bathroom en suite. In Leh we stay in a simple hotel with bathroom en-suite. Please note that in Ladakh in winter the water pipes in the hotel may be frozen and water (hot and cold) sometimes is provided by bucket. All accommodation is on a twin share basis.
On trek we use spacious two-person tents, with a mess tent and toilet tent.
Home stay - we will spend one night in a traditional Ladakhi house. The house will be basic and you may well be sleeping in a sleeping bag on a mattress on the floor. There will be a basic local toilet and dining room. Food will be cooked by the local family.
