Days 1&2 Hotel a La or similar, Swakopmund, Namibia You will meet your guide and the rest of the group at the A la Mer Hotel in Swakopmund, a charming town on the Namibia Coast . For the rest of day as well as the the following day you have the opportunity to partake in the many optional activities that are offer. Alternatively just soak up the atmosphere of this little quaint German town and enjoy its beauty and beaches. (B)
Day 3 Omaruru Guesthouse or similar, Twyfelfontein, Namibia We follow the barren Atlantic Coast line on our way out of Swakopmund to visit Africa’s largest seal colony after lunch. Leaving the cold Atlantic coastline behind, we head inland across the desert planes for Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia. Either this afternoon or the next morning we walk up a valley on Brandberg and visit the famous ‘White Lady’ rock painting. The footpath to the site offers spectacular views over the plains of Damaraland. (BL) Distance; 460km; Departure 08h00
Day 4 Oppi Koppi Restcamp or similar, Kamanjab, Namibia On our journey, today we will stop to see Petrified Forest, the trees of which are estimated to be 250 million years old. Depending on the time of arrival we go and explore a traditional Himba village this afternoon or the next morning. This will be a journey of culture exchange, learning and understanding of the last traditional tribe in Namibia, the Ova-Himba. (BLD) Distance 330km; Departure 07h00
Day 5-7 Okaukuejo Rest Camp or similar, Etosha National Park, Namibia After our cultural experience in Kamanjab, we head to Etosha National Park for three nights. Etosha Game Park was declared a National Park in 1907 and it is home to approx. 114 mammal species, 340 birds species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and , suprisingly, one species of fish. We fill the next 2 days with game drives inthe hoppes of spotting some of the big four as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra and the numerous different types of antelope the park has to offer. Our nights are spend at the flood lit waterholes encountering the park's various nocturnal animals as they come to drink (BLD/BL/BL) Distance: Day 5: 280km; Day 6 :@ 100km, Day 7: 150km; Departure 08h00
Days 8 Kaisosi River Lodge, Kavango River, Namibia Etosha National Park, Namibia Our journey continues east as we drive along the Caprivi Strip to the town of Rundu. We make our way to Kaisosi River Lodge and send a reaxing afternoon at our lodge on the banks of the Kavango River. (BL) Distance: 435km; Departure 08h00
Days 9&10 Guma Laagon Camp or similar, Okavango Delta, Botswana We leave Etsha 13, on the western border of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Unlike other deltas, it flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast, which makes it unique. The next day is spend exploring the network of water pathways through thick vegetation in mokoros ( tradional dugout canoes), discovering a variety of birds and wildlife. Days 11 Camp Kwando, Eastern Caprivi, Namibia Leaving Botswana, we drive up the western border of the Okavango Delta crossing back into Namibia and driving through the Caprivi to our camp on the banks of the Kwando River. En- route to camp we will go on a game driving to the Mahangu National Park which is rich in fauna and flora. (BLD) Distance: 385km; Departure 08h00
Day 12&13 Chobe Safari Lodge or similar, Chobe National Park, Botswana The next morning we head along Caprivi and cross the border back into Botswana to Kasane, the gateway to the Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10, 566 square km. After settling in to our lodge, you will have the reminder of the day leisure or partake in optional activities. (BLD/B) Distance: 265 km; Departure 09h00
Day 14 A Zambezi River Lodge or similar, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Continuing our trip we leave Botswana and drive to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Your guide will take you on a tour of the mighty Victoria Falls, known by the local Kololo tribe as Mosi oa Tunya- “The Smoke That Thunders”. The rest of the day may be spent at leisure or partaking in one of the many activities on offer. (BL) Distance: 90km; Departure: 09h00
Day 15 Victoria Falls - End of tour The tour ends after breakfast this morning. We can arrange an airport transfer on request (own expense). We hope to welcome you on one of our African adventures soon. (B)
