India’s largest state and certainly one of its most colourful, Rajasthan is a dazzling fusion of tradition, landscapes and history. Boasting one of the oldest cultures on the Indian subcontinent, it encompasses ancient mountains, vast deserts and the spectacular legacy of the Rajput princes, builders of some of the finest forts anywhere in India.
This comprehensive and active adventure takes you across its varied landscapes by camel, mountain bike and zip line, offering a chance to experience a truly unique aspect of one of India’s most rewarding destinations. You’ll have a chance to see Neemrana and Meherangarh Forts from a zip wire and travel by elephant through the rural countryside around Jaipur.
In the “Golden City” of Jaisalmer you’ll venture out into the great Thar Desert by camel and explore the temples and communities around Kuldhara, before driving on to Bikaner to ride through the open desert by mountain bike. The road back to Delhi then takes in the beautiful havelis of Mandawa, a town that once played host to the caravans and merchants that plied the old Silk Route across northern India.
