Stretching for over 4,300 kilometres along South America’s Pacific coastline, Chile is a land of startling contrasts and beautiful extremes. The world’s longest country, its improbably thin dimensions harbour some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, from the stark and inhospitable beauty of the Atacama Desert, to the drama of Patagonia and the staggering Torres del Paine National Park.
Beginning in Santiago, you’ll enjoy some time soaking up the city’s colonial heritage before flying down to Punta Arenas, where you will spend three days exploring the Torres del Paine National Park, for many, one of the finest national parks anywhere in the Americas. Next stop will be the panoramas and snow-capped peaks of the Lake District, where you will visit the Alercon Andino National Park and hike to the top of Villarrica Volcano.
In sharp contrast, the final leg of this incredible journey takes you to San Pedro de Atacama, from where you will experience both the driest place on earth and the rich, fertile vineyards of the Colchagua Valley.
