Lake Waikaremoana is situated in Te Urewera National Park, the largest area of untouched natural wilderness remaining in the North Island of New Zealand. This unique Great Walk circumnavigates the lake shore for two days, before climbing to the top of Panekiri Ridge for breathtaking views of the endless mountains of Te Urewera, the lake, and the Pacific Ocean.
